14. The Pretty Committe Strikes Back By Lisi Harrison 27/08/10

‘The Pretty Committee Strikes Back’ is another great book in the clique series. This time the girls go off on a school trip to Lake Placid. It is the most unlikely place these girls would go by choice, which is why the book is quite different to the previous books in the series. Again the girls get up to their usual hilarious and unbelievable antics. Yet none of this prepares you for the twist at the end. Though each book so far has ended in a cliff hanger, this one has been the most unexpected so far!

13. Dragon Tamers by Emma Maree Urquhart 15/07/10

At first I struggled to enjoy reading this book. This was not because of the storyline but due to how it had been written. Situations in the book, I felt, were not as good at creating a picture in the readers mind as they could have been. At times situations were a little disconjointed with how the characters interacted.

However, the storyline was extremely imaginative. The main idea of going into a video game has been done before, yet the imagination for the creatures and the realms were fantastic. The only thing I would have prefer would have been more descriptive writing to really build up a picture and to make the book a little longer!

It was only until the last few chapters where a twist was reviled that I started to really enjoy the book. I was glad that I had forced myself to read it to the end instead of giving up on occasion. Though I am no English student, I feel more descriptions and details would have made this a great book. As its stands now its OK book!

Invasions Of The Boy Snatchers by Lisi Harrison7/06/2010

Another ah-mazing book in the clique series! This time its been spiced up a little with boys and the jealousy of losing them due to the newcomer. This has given the book more of an edge compared to the previous ones, that have basically been about bitchy girly quarrels! However, all the books have been a great read so far. Can't wait to read the next one and can't believe I've got hocked!

11. Rebel on a Rock by Nina Bawden 21/05/10

This is a great children's book which would be enjoyed by any age. It is set in Ithaca, which I'm not a hundred percent sure if it is even a real place. However, the story is about a dictator ruling over Ithaca and a plan to over throw him. For such a great build up through the book, I was disappointed with its ending. It summed up everything far to quickly and left a few questions unanswered. Yet this is still a good little book, which I would defiantly recommend.

10. About A Boy by Nick Hornby 27/03/10

This was a really sweet lovely book. The main character Will just screams Hugh Grant at you! One of the reasons he was probably cased as will in the film. I loved reading the development of the relationship between Will and Marcus through the book, as their intentions usually started off selfish! Though it's aimed at a young audience it is a very enjoyable read, which I believe all ages would love.

9. Revenge of the Wannabes By Lisi Harrison

Again like the other two in the series, it is a great book. Though it's meant to be based on everyday life of rich school girls in New York, I doubt many are offered to be models for the day! With these girls your never too sure what they will do next and I think that is one of the reasons I've got hooked!

8. Best Friends For Never By Lisi Harrison 3/02/10

I can't believe I've started to get hooked on The Clique series. Like the first book, 'The Clique', Best Friends For Never is again another book that is hard to put down! Its a great read and I would defiantly suggest it to other, young and old. The majority of people will see that their school year could have been a lot worse!

7. The Invisible Friend by Louise Arnold 21/01/10

This book was given to me years ago... before it was even published! I managed to acquire a uncorrected proof copy.
I found the book an averagely OK book. It wasn't a book that you couldn't put down, yet there were detailed ideas in it that could fit in well in one of the Harry Potter books! As the book goes on the storyline gets progressively better. However it's not something I would recommend for anyone older than 13 really! Still its a not a bad book and the author of it has dyslexia. I have very mild dyslexia and I think its great that she has managed to write a book and get it published!

6. The Clique By Lisi Harrison 30/12/09

This book keeps you intrigued because you can't quite understand why the character Claire Lyons wants to become friends with the nastiest girls in her school! Again this is not a book I would have picked up in a shop and I believe it managed to become part of my collection a few Christmas ago! However, its one of those books where you can't quite believe what the characters are doing and you just have to keep reading. Only trouble is, that it wasn't until the last page I realised it was a series. There are about another 10 books to it and more are being published! Better get reading then!
